TaLK is a scholarship program for individuals seeking to gain experience focusing on serive-learning and cultural education. Positions are offered to university students and recent graduates who are comfortable working with children of ages 6-12.
Since 2008, TaLK has been providing educational support to public schools with limited access to English language resource Program participants engage in cross-cultural exchange with the locals, instruct in a rural setting and are provided with opportunities to take part in various activities to broaden their knowledge of Korea.
Native English speaker and citizen of New Zealand
Associate’s degree or enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program (3rd year of higher)
Teach conversational English in after –school classes
Monday – Friday (15 instructional hrs/wk)
1 year (6 months for exceptional cases)
11 metropolitan and provincial areas, mostly rural areas
Entrance and exit allowances (Airfare to Korea/Return Economic ticket)
Medical insurance coverage
Monthyly stipend (KRW 1.5 million/$1,760NZD approx)
Scholarship completion certificate

The 1st deadline for 14th generation – 2nd of October,2014
The 2nd deadline for 14th generation – 3rd of November,2014
The 3rd deadline for 14th generation – 1st of December,2014

2. Create a TaLK My Page and complete the online application (parts A and B)
3. Print, sign and submit the application along with hard copies of all required documents to Korean Education Centre in NZ (KEC). Required documents are listed on the TaLK Web site under Apply Now
